About the Role:
Justera is currently recruiting an Embedded QA Engineer (Mid-Level) on behalf of one of our key clients in the Gaming industry.
Our client is seeking a collaborative, quality-driven QA professional to join their cross-functional development team in Stockholm. In this role, you won't just be finding bugs at the end of the line—you will be "shifting quality left." You will act as the core quality gatekeeper, working side-by-side with developers, artists, and producers to champion a quality-first mindset, assess risks early in the design phase, and ensure flawless feature releases on mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Drive Quality Culture: Promote and adapt QA methodologies within your team, encouraging shared quality ownership and challenging the status quo where needed.
Risk & Compliance Management: Identify and flag risks, blockers, dependencies, and legal/platform compliance issues early in the feature and content development process.
Hands-on Testing: Perform manual, exploratory, and technical testing across multiple mobile platforms, seamlessly integrating into the team’s GitHub PR flow.
Test Documentation: Create, maintain, and update test cases, test plans, and test scripts.
Bug Lifecycle Ownership: Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of game bugs using Jira, and coordinate both internal and external test sessions.
Cross-Craft Collaboration: Act as the strategic QA point of contact, aligning with Team Producers, Project QA Leads, developers, and artists to guide data-driven decision-making.
Live Ops Support: Partner with stakeholders on game releases, post-release monitoring, and community issue triaging alongside customer service.
Mandatory Requirements:
Games Industry Experience: 1+ years of professional QA experience specifically within gaming, possessing a solid grasp of game development cycles and release flows.
Technical & Engine Skills: Practical, hands-on experience working inside the Unity Editor and familiarity with developer consoles.
Mobile Platform Knowledge: Solid understanding of iOS and Android hardware, operating systems, and platform-specific behaviors.
Tools Proficiency: Proven experience utilizing Jira for bug tracking and GitHub for PR deployment flows.
Communication: Full professional fluency in English with excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across different crafts (engineers, artists, product owners).
Mindset: An exceptional eye for detail and a proactive approach to risk assessment.
Nice to Have:
Basic programming or coding knowledge, with an interest in learning/supporting test automation requirements and writing effective test scripts.
A basic understanding of client-server relationships.
A deep, genuine passion for technology and video games.
Logistics:
Start Date: ASAP
