About the Role:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Expert System Design Engineer to take operational leadership and ownership of legal requirement R156, including ongoing maintenance, implementation of updates, and related quality improvement initiatives.
This role requires a proven track record in complex system engineering environments, particularly within electrical and electronic systems. The assignment involves both strategic and operational responsibilities, ensuring compliance, system readiness, and high-quality delivery across all phases of development.
Key Responsibilities:
Take operational leadership and responsibility for compliance with legal requirement R156, including maintenance and future updates
Drive and coordinate quality improvement initiatives related to system and product development
Design and develop electrical and electronic systems by defining system purpose, component interfaces, and expected system behavior
Lead system engineering activities within technical teams and actively contribute to delivery execution
Integrate and align deliverables from multiple stakeholders and engineering teams
Ensure system readiness, quality assurance, and compliance prior to release
Participate in specification, implementation, and verification loops to ensure system-level integrity
Ensure proper implementation of system and non-functional requirements
Develop and maintain system architecture strategies and roadmaps aligned with product delivery
Lead concept investigations and facilitate evaluation of alternative system solutions
Collaborate with product management to translate capability needs into features and enablers
Manage system interfaces and non-functional requirements within agile release frameworks
Lead technical concepts through governance and approval processes
Request and guide development of system concepts and technical solutions
Requirements:
Minimum 12+ years of relevant experience in system engineering or related disciplines
Recognized expert in electrical and electronic system design and architecture
Proven leadership in system-level engineering within complex, cross-functional environments
Strong understanding of system integration, verification, and validation processes
Experience in managing system requirements, including non-functional requirements
Demonstrated ability to lead concept development and technical decision-making
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business domains
Experience working within structured engineering frameworks and agile release environments
