About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled System Verification Engineer Specialist responsible for developing, maintaining, executing, and reporting verification activities for complex automotive systems. The role focuses on creating comprehensive test specifications based on system requirements and ensuring complete test coverage across system integration baselines.
The Verification Engineer will work closely with requirement engineers, verification leaders, and cross-functional engineering teams to define test strategies, develop automated and manual test cases, execute verification activities, analyze results, and ensure delivery according to project timelines and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Specification Development
Develop test specifications for assigned verification areas based on system specifications and integration baselines.
Define overall test scopes, test cases, and verification strategies according to established development processes.
Collaborate with system requirement developers to ensure correct interpretation and coverage of requirements.
Identify suitable test bases, versions, and configurations for test specification development.
Utilize inputs from design risk assessments, FMEA, and dependability studies when creating test plans.
Analyze requirements and define appropriate verification methods.
Estimate test development effort and manage workload planning.
Create, maintain, and update:
Test scopes
Test specifications
Test cases
Function Variants (FV) and FV Groups
Develop scripts for automated testing and ensure the validity of automated test cases.
Ensure complete coverage of requirements, variants, and change requests within assigned test areas.
Prepare test scopes for formal reviews and execution readiness.
Test Execution & Reporting
Perform test execution analysis and estimate execution/reporting effort.
Plan test activities, including selection of test cases, function variants, and test objects.
Create and manage test suites and connect them with required test systems.
Execute verification activities according to assigned test plans and timelines.
Register and document test results accurately.
Perform test failure analysis and support issue resolution.
Report verification status, including progress and identified issues.
Identify and communicate issues related to test cases, tools, and test environments.
Create final verification reports and submit them for review.
Maintain lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement activities.
Authority & Ownership
The Verification Engineer Specialist has ownership and responsibility for managing, monitoring, and developing assigned test specifications and execution activities, including:
Assigning and delegating selected aspects of test specification development and execution activities.
Creating, updating, releasing, or removing test cases, specifications, function variants, and related verification artifacts within the assigned area.
Managing and maintaining test results and verification reports.
Deciding when updates or additional executions of test cases are required within the assigned scope.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate should have:
Strong experience in system verification and validation within automotive or embedded systems.
Excellent understanding of testing methodologies for:
Automated Driving Systems
Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)
Vehicle Dynamics systems, including steering and braking
Experience designing tests for safety-critical systems.
Broad knowledge of verification activities at:
Unit level
Device level
Sub-system level
System level
Vehicle level
Experience developing both manual and automated test solutions.
Understanding of automotive EE architectures and vehicle functions.
Awareness of current trends in commercial vehicle technology and verification practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Valid C or CE driving license is preferred.
