About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Design Studio Engineer – Expert to provide end-to-end engineering support throughout the product design and development lifecycle. This role bridges the gap between Product Design and Engineering, ensuring that creative concepts are translated into technically feasible, high-quality solutions while maintaining design intent.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advanced design and engineering activities, supporting physical and digital development, driving technical excellence, and balancing engineering requirements with design objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide engineering support throughout all phases of the product design process, including Advanced Design and Advanced Engineering.
Collaborate closely with Design and Engineering teams to ensure project requirements are clearly understood, communicated, and successfully implemented.
Support studio activities by maintaining the correct technical and geometrical status for physical models, mock-ups, ergonomic bucks, and design verification assets.
Ensure design concepts meet engineering feasibility, manufacturability, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Balance technical, functional, and aesthetic requirements while maintaining a holistic product development approach.
Drive technical quality across Product Design deliverables through robust engineering practices and validation.
Stay current with emerging engineering technologies, development processes, digital tools, and industry best practices.
Identify and resolve complex technical challenges during the design and development process.
Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement of design engineering methodologies.
Support project planning, technical decision-making, and roadmap development aligned with long-term engineering strategies.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Product Development, Industrial Design Engineering, or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in Design Studio Engineering, Product Development, or Automotive Engineering.
Extensive experience supporting design studios, concept development, and engineering integration.
Strong understanding of product development processes, engineering validation, geometric quality, and technical feasibility.
Experience working with physical prototypes, mock-ups, ergonomic bucks, and digital design verification.
Proficiency with relevant CAD, PLM, visualization, and engineering development tools.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, tooling, and production considerations.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Demonstrated experience leading complex technical initiatives and mentoring engineers.
